Happy Christmas
I hope everyone that wanted to got to spend Christmas with their families. I spent my Christmas with my other family - my brothers and sisters in arms, walking the line at the power plant. I had to work Christmas Eve into Christmas morning, and I have to be back in tonight as well.
It's another particularly bittersweet holiday for me. My kids are still in Germany and it's going on a year and half since I've seen them. At least I got to chat with them for a few minutes. They weren't all that talkative - and it made we wonder if they were distracted by their new toys or if I'm becoming less important to them. I'm going to believe it's the former not the latter.
I thought I'd share my favorite Christmas song. It's not a traditional song, but it's still my first choice. It's probably one of the only songs that makes me happy, sad, and optimistic all at the same time.
There's a slight twist to it though. Don't let the unnecessary shots of Bill & Hillary ruin it for you.
